Office of the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs
Welcome from the Provost
Thanks for visiting our webpage and for your interest in Texas A&M University-San Antonio!
I encourage you to take your time and look at all that we have going on here on our campus. We currently have 19 undergraduate degree programs and 10 graduate (master’s level) programs. There is a good reason that we are the fastest growing university in Texas and that is due to these exciting academic programs, excellent faculty, and a service oriented staff. We are vitally interested and committed to the education of our students who leave our classrooms and enter careers that help the south side of San Antonio, the San Antonio metropolitan area, the State of Texas, and the United States improve the lives of all our citizens. Our faculty are dedicated to teaching and learning and are committed to challenging students in every class and experience. Our students are both challenged and supported in their academic work and are motivated to succeed. TAMU-SA is a university that values both educational excellence and a personal academic environment!
Someone once said, “Ships in harbor are safe but that isn’t what ships are for!" Our faculty help students get out into the “open sea” where service, work, and the real world come together. We are a university of faculty with academic degrees from prestigious universities across the United States and with varied clinical, consulting, applied, and practical work experiences to match. Faculty serve as leaders in many organizations locally, statewide, and nationally. They are involved in service and scholarly activities that highlight and inform their teaching.
Grow with us and become part of a new tradition beginning in the south side of San Antonio—become a Jaggie!
