Joe Garcia is the Special Assistant For Academic Affairsat Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Mr. Garcia served more than 25 years in the U.S. Army in numerous staff and command positions. After retiring from the Army, he served nearly 30 years at Texas A&M International University in several leadership positions, including director of Physical Plant, vice president of Finance and Administration, and as interim president for a period of 9 months. Upon his retirement the Texas A&M University Board of Regents designated him as Vice President Emeritus Finance and Administration. Garcia obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia. He is a graduate of the Governor’s Executive Development Program, LBJ School of Public Affairs, and The University of Texas.
